I am a Denver native and a proud graduate of DPS! I studied ecology and peace and conflict studies at the University of Colorado at Boulder and educational psychology at CU Denver. I began teaching two decades ago as a Peace Corps volunteer in Guatemala and fell in love with this important work. Since then, I’ve been a teacher and leader in many schools in Denver. I’m passionate about closing opportunity gaps and helping every child develop into a well rounded, lifelong learner and informed citizen.
Outside of school, you’ll find me enjoying time with my wife and two children, ages 10 and 13. We love hiking, cycling, watching Star Trek, and finding the best ice cream shops in the city. I also have two rescue dogs that love walks, treats, and cuddling. To relax, I listen to music, read, exercise, and spend time immersed in nature.
