Queridas Familias 

Este año estamos muy agradecidos por la Liga de Asistencia de Denver (ALD)! El domingo que viene, ALD tendrá su evento de dia de compras gratuito en JCPenny para todas las familias. Esperamos verlos ahí a usted y su estudiante! Vea más adelante para más detalles. 

Dia de Compras de JCPenny
Todas las familias de MSLA recibirán una tarjeta de regalo de $80 por estudiante para gastar en ropa en JCPenny en Northfield, 8568 E 49th Ave, Denver, CO 80238. Este es el único día en que se pueden usar las tarjetas de regalo, así que asegúrese de planificarlo con anticipación. Este emocionante evento es patrocinado por la Liga de Asistencia de Denver. 

Los estudiantes deben estar presentes en JCPenny’s para el evento y usted presentará algún tipo de identificación y se registrará antes de comprar. Lea esta información (English/Spanish)   detenidamente antes de comprar.

Lunes, 27 de Septiembre: No Hay Escuela
Los maestros tendrán un día de planeación el 27 de septiembre. No hay escuela para los estudiantes.

Computer & Charger Return
Asegúrese de que su hijo/a devuelva la computadora y el cargador a la escuela lo antes posible. DPS está cobrando por computadoras dañadas y pérdidas. DPS les cobrará a las familias por las computadoras perdidas o dañadas.

El Programa de KidsSmart 
MSLA está trabajando con KidsSmart para ofrecer el programa de día extendido de 6:30 am a 6:00 pm. KidsSmart puede apoyar a su familia con asistencia financiera a través de CCAP. Por favor llame a Ms. Gomez o a KidsSmart al 720-397-7203 si están interesados .

Campamento de Basketball Gratuito, edades 9-13
El Departamento de Policía de Denver está organizando un campamento de baloncesto gratuito para estudiantes de 9 a 13 años el 24 de septiembre en Metro State College. Registrese aqui.

Pruebas de COVID Gratuitas
DPS y COVID Check Colorado tienen disponibles pruebas de COVID gratuitas para adultos y estudiantes. Haga su cita aqui.

Mascarilla Reusabless
Reduzca, reutilice, y recicle. Por favor recuerde a sus estudiantes que sean conscientes del desperdicio que crean las mascarillas desechables. Por favor, no tire las máscaras de usos múltiples después de un solo uso y por favor traiga la suya a la escuela para ayudarnos a reducir el desperdicio.

Examen Socio-Emocional
MSLA está llevando a cabo una evaluación socioemocional la semana del 20 de septiembre. Esta evaluación proporcionará al personal información importante sobre cómo apoyar las necesidades sociales y emocionales de cada estudiante. Lea más sobre la evaluación aquí: (English/Spanish)

¿Está interesado en las pruebas Magnet para estudiantes dotados y talentosos?
La nominación para las pruebas de otoño ya está abierta hasta el 15 de octubre. El período de prueba de otoño para los estudiantes del distrito se llevará a cabo en la escuela entre el 25 de octubre y el 3 de diciembre. Los estudiantes fuera del distrito / hogar / escuela privada serán evaluados el sábado 4 de diciembre. Las pruebas no estarán disponibles antes de esta ventana.

Tenga en cuenta: los estudiantes no pueden ser evaluados dos veces con una prueba cognitiva en un año calendario (por ejemplo, un estudiante evaluado en la primavera de 2021 no sería elegible para volver a realizar la prueba hasta la primavera de 2022). Durante el semestre de otoño, los estudiantes en kindergarten, segundo y sexto grado son evaluados con el NNAT como parte del proceso de selección universal; esas familias no necesitan enviar este formulario.

Dear Families,
We are grateful for the support of the Assistance League of Denver (ALD) this year! On Sunday ALD is hosting a free clothing shopping day at JCPenny for all our families. We hope to see all of you and your students at the event. See the details below!

Sunday, September 19: JCPenny Shopping Day
All MSLA families will receive an $80 gift card per student to spend on clothing at JCPenny in Northfield, 8568 E 49th Ave, Denver, CO 80238. This is the only day that the gift cards can be used so be sure to plan ahead for this exciting event sponsored by the Assistance League of Denver. Students do need to be at JCPenny’s for the event and you will present some form of identification and sign in before shopping. Please read this information (English/Spanish)  carefully before shopping. Please fill out this form with a shopping wishlist if you cannot make the event.

Monday, September 27: No School
Teachers have a planning day on Sept 27th. There is no school for students that day.

Computer & Charger Return
Please make sure your child returns their computer and charger to school as soon as possible. DPS is charging for damaged computers and for lost computers. DPS is now charging families for lost and damaged computers.

KidsSmart Program
MSLA is working with KidsSmart to offer extended day programming from 6:30 am to 6:00 pm. KidsSmart can work with your family to apply for CCAP funding to make this an affordable option for your family. Please contact Ms. Gomez or KidsSmart at 720-397-7203 if you are interested. 

Free Basketball Camp for Ages 9-13
The Denver Police Department is hosting a free basketball camp for students ages 9-13 on September 24th at Metro State College. Register here.

Free COVID Testing
Free COVID testing is available for students and adults  through DPS and COVID Check Colorado. Make an appointment here.

Reusable Masks
Reduce, reuse, recycle. Please remind your students to be mindful of the waste disposable masks create.. Please do not throw multi use masks away after a single use and please bring your own to school to help us cut down on waste.

Social-Emotional Screening
MSLA is conducting a social-emotional screener the week of September 20th. This screener provides the staff with important information about how to support each students’ social and emotional needs. Please read more about the screener here (English/Spanish).

All students will take part in the screener unless you opt your student out. Click here to opt out your child.   

Hearing and Vision Screening
All students will have their hearing and visions checked by DPS health specialists on September 20-22. Please complete and return this form (English / Spanish)  if you want to opt your child out of the screening.  

Interested in Gifted and Talented Magnet Testing?

The fall testing nomination is now open through October 15th. The fall testing window for in-district students will occur at a child’s school between October 25th-December 3rd. Out of district/home/private school students will be tested on Saturday, December 4th. Testing will not be available prior to this window.

Please note: Students cannot be tested twice with a cognitive test in one calendar year (For instance, a student tested in the spring of 2021 would not be eligible to test again until the spring of 2022). During the fall semester, students enrolled in Kindergarten, 2nd, and 6th grades are tested with the NNAT as part of the universal screening process; those families do not need to submit this form.
