MSLA-Announcement April 9

Queridas Familias,

Dear Families,

We hope your spring break was safe and relaxing! It was great to hear stories about the break and see the students re-engaging with their learning. We also enjoyed seeing families participate in the April Family Engagement Project today. You can continue working on this project with your family and share it on Seesaw.

We continue to welcome back students that were learning remotely and are now learning in-person. Please contact your teacher if your child is learning at home and you would like them to return to in-person learning. We’d love to transition students back into the building when your family is ready!

Friday, April 16 Asynchronous Learning Day

CMAS Update
As you likely heard, the United States Department of Education approved Colorado’s waiver for reduced CMAS testing this spring. As a result, we have modified our testing schedule to reflect the reduced testing, per the waiver.Third and fifth grade students are only required to take the ELA test; fourth grade students are only required to take the math test. However, the waiver does permit families to request their student complete both assessments if desired. If you would like your student to take BOTH assessments, please contact Mr. Shiroff at jason_shiroff@dpsk12.org by Monday, April 12th. If you do not contact Mr Shiroff, your student will only take the required assessment unless you have opted out.  If you have previously opted out of CMAS testing, no action is required.

Denver Health’s School-based Health Centers (SBHC) provide health services at no cost to all DPS families. Services include medical, mental health, dental, health education and family planning, as well as insurance enrollment and advising services. SBHCs are located at 18 sites throughout Denver.
